At the invitation of Transport Engineering Design Inc. (TEDI), on December 26th to 28th, 2022, the senior mission of Ministry of Public Works and Transport led by Mr. Viengsavath Siphandon, Minister of Public Works and Transport paid a visit to Vietnam and attended the 60th anniversary celebration and Third-Class Medal Award Ceremony of TEDI.
The year of 2022 is the 60th anniversary of cooperation between Vietnam – Laos. After 60 years, the relation is increasingly expanding and developing, effectively and sustainably in all aspects, becoming an example in international relation. TEDI is one of enterprises having contribution to the course of socio-economic development of Laos, advancing the great friendship, special unity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam – Laos. Speaking in the ceremony, Minister Viengsavath Siphandon highly appreciated TEDI’s contribution in enhancement of economic cooperation in transport sector between Vietnam – Laos, especially in National Highway No. 18B, NH2E, Samtay -Thalao Highway, Hanoi – Vientiane Expressway, etc. and wished that TEDI would continue to cooperate, support through their actions, specific projects to build up and nurture the friendship between the two countries to be even more developed.

Also in the ceremony, in the sideline meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Thang and leaders of Ministry of Transport has a courtesy meeting with the mission of Laos’ Ministry of Public Works Transport led by Minister Viengsavath Siphandon. In the reception, Minister Nguyen Van Thang welcomed the working visit of the mission of Laos’ Ministry of PW&T and thanked Minister Viengsavath Siphandon and colleagues for spending time for the amicable talks with Ministry of Transport of Vietnam. The visit of Laos’ MPWT mission is the demonstration of the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between the two countries’ transport sectors in particular.
Minister Viengsavath Siphandon sent the the best wishes to Minister Nguyen Van Thang and officers of Ministry of Transport for amicably entertainment of Laos’ Ministry of Public Works and Transport this time, and cordially invited Minister Nguyen Van Thang to pay a working visit to Laos PDR on suitable occasion, Minister Nguyen Van Thang respectfully thanked and happily accepted the invitation.

During his trip to Vietnam, on December 28th, 2022, Minister Viengsavath Siphandon has visited and checked the route alignment of Hanoi – Vientiane Expressway, Vietnam section, to ensure harmonious connection between the two countries’ routes. Based on analysis of advantages, disadvantages of the route alignment option, the Minister confirmed that the route alignment passing Thanh Thuy – Pakxa border gates is suitable, meeting the requirements regarding economics, technology, and has been agreed by the two Government. The Minister emphasized that he would report to Laotian Government to push up the Project’s implementation.
