On December 5, 2022 in Hoa Binh City, Traffic Project Management Board of Hoa Binh Province held a ceremony to sign the contract of surveying consultancy contract, prepare a construction investment feasibility study report and survey the site clearance and road marking of the Hoa Binh – Moc Chau Expressway project (section from Km19+000 – Km53+000 in Hoa Binh province) with the Joint Venture of Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI) – Giang Dong Joint Stock Company – Nippon Koei Vietnam International Co., Ltd.
The project has a total length of about 34 km, passing through Da Bac town and communes: Tu Ly, Cao Son, Tien Phong, Da Bac district; Tan Thanh commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province.
Investment scale includes 02 phases:
– Phase 1 Design and construction of the road with the plan, longitudinal profile and geometrical elements to ensure the standard TCVN 5729:2012 (Highway motorway – Design requirements); design speed 80km/h, sections with difficult terrain design speed 60km/h, ensuring compliance with planning;
– Design completion phase according to Expressway Standards (TCVN 5729:2012).
This is a project with high technical complexity, including 01 large-aperture cable-stayed bridge with expected main span length of 550m, 02 bridges with pier height greater than 90m and 03 tunnels.
When the project is completed, it will facilitate the recovery and rapid development of production and business activities, promote economic growth, improve the resilience of the economy, and create the competitiveness of the economy after the pandemic. ; promote socio-economic development of the Northwest region in general and Hoa Binh – Son La province in particular;
supplementing the choice of moving from Hanoi capital to Hoa Binh lake tourist area, Da Bac, Mai Chau and Moc Chau districts of Son La province, breaking the monopolistic position of National Highway 6. Facilitating exploitation of potential tourism services development in Hoa Binh, Son La and the Northwest region, attracting resources to exploit unused land fund, improving mobility, ensuring security and defense in the area. area.
