On the morning of January 9, 2021, in Hanoi, the People’s Committee of Hanoi, the Management Board of the traffic construction investment project in Hanoi solemnly held the Commencement of Vinh Tuy Bridge project phase 2 to welcome the XIII National Congress of the Party.
Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Government, Hanoi city and related departments …
Vinh Tuy Bridge Project Phase 2 designed by TEDI. By design, the bridge is shaped similar to Vinh Tuy 1 bridge and has a length of 3.4 km, located 21.2 meters downstream from Vinh Tuy 1 bridge (Hung Yen direction), clearance of the bridge is 11 meters above the water surface of the Red River.
Bridge is permanently designed with prestressed reinforced concrete. 2 river banks already have access to the bridge (constructed from phase 1) so the project does not need site clearance.
When completed, Vinh Tuy 1 and 2 bridges will have 8 lanes, including 4 lanes for cars, 2 lanes for bus and 2 lanes of rudimentary lanes. This will be the first bridge in Hanoi to have a dedicated bus lane.
The bridge is invested and built according to the planning to perfect the entire Ring Road II of Hanoi City; to increase traffic capacity between the two sides of the Red River, to meet the rapidly increasing transport demand between the capital’s center and the northern and northeastern regions of the city.
The project also helps to improve the exploitation conditions, ensure traffic safety, connect the two banks of the Red River, facilitate socio-economic development, security and defense in Hai Ba Trung district, Long Bien district own and the Hanoi Capital in general; creating a premise for the formation of an urban chain north of the capital; to step by step complete the traffic infrastructure system of the capital according to the planning.
The project is expected to be completed after 24 months of construction. The total investment approved is more than 2,500 billion VND from the city budget.
