On September 30, 2020, the Ministry of Transport organized the commencement ceremony of three North – South expressway components including Mai Son – NH 45, Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet – Dau Giay. The Groundbreaking ceremony of the component project Mai Son – NH45 was held at Km4 + 500-QL.217B, Ha Long commune, Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and representatives from the Government, the National Assembly, Ministries and branches of the Central Government and related localities attended the this groundbreaking ceremony.
Mai Son – NH 45 expressway project is 63.37km long, total investment is about 12,111 billion VND;
Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet expressway Project is 100.8km long, total investment is about 11,603 billion VND;
Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway project is 98km long, with a total investment of about 12,557 billion dong.
All 3 projects mentioned above are prioritized to convert investment from PPP to Government’s Invest using the entire state budget, when completed and put into operation in 2022, step by step forming a North-South expressway in the East has great capacity, safety, high speed, meeting the needs of transport, in accordance with the direction and planning of transportation development; will shorten the journey on the North – South axis; overcome traffic congestion and reduce frequent traffic accidents on NH1A; connect economic and political centers in the southern central provinces and the Southeast key economic region and step by step complete synchronous infrastructure, promote socio-economic development and competitiveness economy in the context of extensive integration and security and defense assurance.
Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI) is the firm that prepares a pre-feasibility study report of the project to build some expressway sections on the North – South East route in the period 2017-2020, and prepare Feasibility Study Report of Mai Son -NH 45 expressway and Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway and is the main implementer of the technical design step of Mai Son – NH 45 projecti. Mr. Pham Huu Son – General Director of TEDI and Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha – Deputy General Director and TEDI members participating in the project also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the project.
