On the morning of September 19, 2020, in Ba Ria city, the Ministry of Transport in coordination with the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province chaired the meeting to implement the Bien Hoa – Vung Expressway construction investment project. At the conference, the consultant, the Transport Engineering Design Inc. (TEDI), presented in detail on the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Construction Investment Project.
At this meeting, TEDI gave the main design solutions of the project to ensure that the project objectives are closely followed. The investment in constructing Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway meets the increasing traffic demand on the route, shortening the travel time on the journey from Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Ria – Vung Tau; at the same time, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the Southeast region, promoting investment efficiency of expressway projects and national highways in the region.
The project will be built with the following scale: Expressway with design speed of 100km / h; Route connecting to Cai Mep port: grade III road, speed 80km / h; length of expressway: 59.80km
Starting point: Connecting with National Highway 1A bypass, section bypassing Bien Hoa city, location is 6.5km from Vung Tau junction (about 1.5km from the intersection between Bien Hoa bypass and Highway 51).
End point: There are 2 end points, the end point 1 connects to Thi Vai – Cai Mep international port cluster (Km46 + 800); Endpoint 2 at Km59 + 800 (according to expressway route) at Vung Van intersection.
Currently, the project is preparing a pre-feasibility report to submit to competent authorities for approval.
