On March 7, 2025, Transport Engineering Design Incorporated (TEDI) coordinated with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuc Tri to organize a scientific and technological seminar titled “French Modular Steel Overpass (Viaduct métallique démontable)”.
The seminar was chaired by Mr. Dao Ngoc Vinh – General Director of TEDI, with the participation of bridge engineering experts, including leaders of TEDI, the Quality Management & Research and Development Department, and representatives from TEDI’s affiliated design centers.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuc Tri, former Director of the Transport Design Institute during 1978–1986 (TEDI’s predecessor), is one of Vietnam’s leading experts in structural and transportation engineering. With decades of research and teaching experience at reputable universities and research institutes in Vietnam and abroad, he has authored numerous scientific publications and contributed to many practical engineering projects related to steel bridge structures. At the age of 100, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuc Tri remains passionate about applied science for the transport sector and dedicated his valuable time to share his extensive knowledge with TEDI’s bridge engineers.
The event aimed to introduce and discuss the French modular steel overpass technology—an innovative, flexible, and effective solution for modern transportation infrastructure. The seminar focused on reviewing relevant documents and the professor’s preliminary research on the feasibility of applying this type of structure in Hanoi.
The seminar provided valuable insights and contributed to promoting innovation in the design and construction of transportation infrastructure.
