TEDI signed a survey consultant contract to prepare a feasibility study report for Construction Investment Project of Rach Mieu 2 bridge

On the morning of March 22, 2021, the Contract Signing Ceremony of Package 01 Survey consultant to make a feasibility study report on the project of construction investment of Rach Mieu 2 bridge, connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, between the Investor: My Thuan Project Management Unit and the Consultant Contractor: Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI) which took place at the headquarters of the My Thuan PMU.

Previously, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1741 / QD – TTg approving the investment policy of the construction investment Rach Mieu 2 bridge Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces as proposed by the Ministry of Transport.

Rach Mieu 2 bridge project has a total length of about 17.5 km; The first point is the intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870 in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; the end point connects with Highway 60 at the access road to Ham Luong bridge in Ben Tre province.

According to Decision No. 1741, Rach Mieu 2 bridge over the main channel of Tien river with the navigation channel dimensions of 110×37.5m and 220x30m, the bridge width to meet the scale of 4 motor lanes, of which the main structure of cable-stayed bridge; part of the bridge over the My Tho River (navigation channel dimentions of 50x7m), the bridge width meets the scale of 4 motor lanes, expected main span by continuous girder structure;

The access road section (including a number of medium and small bridges on the route) is designed with a plain grade III road, design speed of 80km/h, cross-section meeting the scale of 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 mixed lanes.

The total investment of the project is estimated at about 5,175.45 billion VND, invested by the State central budget, of which capital for the mid-term public investment plan 2016-2020 is 9 billion VND; capital for the medium-term plan for public investment in 2021-2025 is VND 5,166.45 billion, which will be included in the total state budget capital for the period 2021-2025 of the Ministry of Transport. The project implementation period is expected from 2021 to 2025.
